How to get an AI API key (Meta Muse, Gemini, OpenAI)

Commander works in free practice mode with no key. To make real AI text and artwork, add one API key of your own. You pay the AI provider directly; Commander never sees your billing.

Meta Muse (dev.meta.ai)

1. Go to dev.meta.ai and select Start building to sign up (18+).
2. Add a payment method, then open the API keys tab and choose Create API key (Meta guide). Keys start with LLM_. Copy it right away — it is shown once.

Meta Model API is available only in supported countries. Check Meta's supported countries and Geographic Use Policy (for example, it lists Pakistan as restricted, and Muse Image is not available in India). The “Meta Muse (dev.meta.ai) only” option in Commander needs this Meta developer key.

Google Gemini (Google AI Studio)

1. Open Google AI Studio → API keys and sign in with your Google account.
2. Choose Create API key and copy it. Text has a free tier; AI pictures need billing enabled on the Google Cloud project. See Google's guide and available regions.

OpenAI

1. Sign in at platform.openai.com/api-keys.
2. Choose Create new secret key, copy it, and add credit under Billing. OpenAI API usage is paid.

Add the key in Commander and turn on live AI

1. Open Settings → AI provider. Paste your key into the matching key box and press Save. Keys are stored encrypted on your PC.
2. Pick the provider order (for example “Meta Muse, then Gemini”).
3. Set the two spending limits above $0, type USE REAL AI and press Turn on live AI.

Never share your API key. If one leaks, delete it at the provider and create a new one.
